Be sure to go support the free and open internet in the United States. Submit your comments to the FCC by September 10, 2014 (and preferably much sooner). The proceeding is 14-28. As citizens of a representative democracy, we are usually limited to voting for our representatives to change laws. This is one of our few opportunities to directly weigh in on the debate. Let’s not let Chairman Wheeler and his cable industry cronies ruin the last frontier of freedom and equality.
Since this is a new blog, it may not be apparent that the article title can be a link to another site – in this case, it is a link to the FCC public comments site.
A Grand Adventure
I suppose creating a blog in 2014 isn’t especially grand as adventures go, but it’s new territory for me. I would like to note that not all blogs are created equal — I wrote this one from scratch using Flask. I could have created a WordPress or used Github Pages, but that wouldn’t have been nearly as fun.
I hope you’ll follow along with me on this new journey. Feel free to stop me on the way if you have any questions or comments.
P.S. Despite mentioning both comments and questions, this blog provides facilities for neither. That is by design. I would like to encourage you to e-mail me directly withyour input. Perhaps I’m a youthful idealist, but I want to believe this will increase the quality of individual comments.
